Disney’s Memory Maker service is a great way to purchase all the PhotoPass pictures taken on your vacation by Disney’s PhotoPass photographers and selected attractions, as I’ve mentioned in my previous Disney Vacation Tips #7 and #14. I’m happy to announce that the price for this service has been reduced!
The pre-arrival, advance-purchase Memory Maker, which does not include photos taken within three days of purchase, is being lowered from $169 to $149. In addition, the price of the standard Memory Maker, which can be used immediately upon purchase, will change from $199 to $169.
Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort and enjoy special benefits designed to make your vacation as convenient as it is magical! Watch the video to see what Walt Disney World can offer you!
For this weeks Disney Vacation Tip, I thought I’d post this really entertaining Disney vacation video that lets you know about all kinds of perks for staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, many of which I’ve posted in previous tips.
You’ll hear about Extra Magic Hours, Magic Bands, FastPass+ for attractions to meet and greets, access to FastPass service up to 60 days before you check in, and all the free transporation including Disney’s Magical Express, a free motorcoach for you to start and end your magical Disney stay.
Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about any of these perks, or if I can help you plan your unforgettable Disney vacation!
Save time when you arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel by using the “Online Check-In” option.
Disney’s Online Check-In service is a convenient option that starts your check-in process online from home and may reduce registration time upon arrival at your resort. It is complimentary and available to all registered guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.
When you use the Online Check-In service, you provide your information that is typically needed at the Front Desk during the standard check-in process. When you arrive at your resort, you will visit a specially designated Front Desk location. Look for a sign reading “Online Check-In.” There, you will receive a Welcome Folder and your MagicBands, if you did not receive your MagicBands in the mail prior to your arrival.
Avoiding crowds during Walt Disney World vacations takes some planning, so here are some tips that will help!
Eat dinner prior to 6:00 pm or after 8:00 pm to avoid peak dining times, and take advantage of advance dining reservations. Before your Walt Disney World vacation, look online or let me help you find some restaurants you’d like to experience. I highly recommend making dining reservations, which can be made 180 days in advance on the My Disney Experience app or your My Disney Experience account online.
If there are more than one showing of a parade or show, opt for the later times and see them earlier in your vacation. Although the later showings are often less crowded, I also recommend seeing live performances earlier in your trip. If you’re anxious to see a parade and you wait until a later performance, it would be terrible if it were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, so make sure you don’t wait until the last day of your vacation.
Ride attractions during show and parade times for shorter lines. I’ve already suggested you view shows and parades at later times, but I guess a lot of people still aren’t reading my blog 🙂 and don’t know that, so while at the earlier performances, it’s a great time for you to go on the attractions that typically have longer waits.
Take advantage of the special ticketed events. These events tend to be less crowded than regular park hours and you get lots of special treats. With Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, for example, besides the attractions, you’ll get to see a special parade, fireworks presentation, and show. And if that’s not enough, they’ll throw in complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. Oh, and there’s magical snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. Click here for dates and more information.
Use the My Disney Experience app to check attraction and character wait times. That knowledge can help you to plan your experience more efficiently. And you don’t even have to be in Tomorrowland to take advantage of such futuristic technology!
All the Disney parks have special amenities for their youngest guests, making it easier for adults! The Baby Center is there for your infant and toddler needs, from complimentary nursing and feeding areas to toddler-sized toilets.
The Baby Care Centers are a must for anyone traveling with infants in diapers or for toddlers learning how to use a toilet. Take care of your little ones in a comfortable and calm environment available for diaper changing, nursing and feeding, and more.
About the Facilities
Offering more than just privacy, Baby Care Centers are fully staffed and feature a host of helpful amenities for those visiting with infants and toddlers.
Each full-service facility is complimentary to use and includes:
Nursing room with chairs
Changing room with tables
Feeding area with highchairs
Kitchen with microwave and sink
Main room with television, table, and chairs
On-site shop offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications and pacifiers for purchase
Take a look at this photo when you visit the Baby Center in Disneyland Park. It’s a young Walt Disney!
When vacationing at Walt Disney World, make a reservation to a Character Dining breakfast, lunch, or dinner on a day you are not planning on going to the parks. This way, you will have more time to enjoy the parks on ticketed days.
Sometimes you just want a day to enjoy the pool, or explore the many wonderful Disney Resorts, or Disney Springs shopping complex. These are perfect days to still enjoy the characters without going into the parks. Making reservations on non-park days also allows you to enjoy your dining experience without worrying about a park show or FastPass return time.
Characters visit the following restaurants:
• Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
• 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
• ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
• Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
• Garden Grove at Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
• Fort Wilderness Pavilion at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
And don’t forget, you can make dining reservations 180 days in advance! Contact me for details or to reserve your table.
When you get to your stateroom on a Disney Cruise, don’t forget your room number! Here are some easy ways to keep it with you!
When sailing on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, you receive a Key to the World card to wear on a lanyard. This acts as your room key and credit card while onboard as well as your dining information. For safety, it doesn’t have your stateroom number, because if you lost it, the person who finds it would know to which room it belongs.
Photos are a great way to keep visual reminders of things, such as which section you parked your car in a parking lot. But on a Disney Cruise, why not take a photo of your stateroom number so you have it with you during your cruise.
For kids or passengers without a mobile phone, you can write down the room number on a piece of paper, but it wouldn’t be a good practice to keep it with the Key to the World card. That is, unless you encrypt it! For example, if your room number is 8030, you can write a note like “Mom’s phone 555-8030” or simply something like “Password: 19558030.”
Of course, you can always just go to the friendly Disney cast members for assistance, but with these simple ideas, you won’t have to take any time away from your vacation if your mind is still on the buffet and not the number of your stateroom!
